32 year old Australian actress and singer Belinda Emmett has lost her long battle with cancer.
Belinda died in Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital, with her husband, television host Rove McManus by her side.Belinda Emmett was taken to hospital on Monday.
She was diagnosed with the disease in 1998 at the age of 24 after having ignored a lump in her breast for about 2 years. After chemotherapy, it was thought that the doctor's were successful in ridding the disease but in 2001 it returned as cancer in her bones.
Belinda married Rove McManus in January 2005. The couple had met at the opening of Fox Studios in Sydney, a year after she was first diagnosed.
Her last public appearance was two weeks ago at the ARIA Awards in Sydney.
Although she was first seen in a small role as Tracy on Australia television in the comedy Hey Dad, Belinda made her name as Rebecca Fisher/Nash in the soap opera Home and Away and as Jodie Homer in All Saints.
In 2002, she also played the role on Cheryl alongside Eric Bana in the movie Nugget.
Her recording career includes a version of 'Shower The People' on Marcia Hines album 'Hindsight'.
She also recorded a version of Michael Jackson's 'Off The Wall' for the charity record Hope, which raised money for cancer victims.
