A 24-year old New Jersey policewoman has questioned music legend Bob Dylan after she saw him walking the streets in Long Branch, New Jersey and did not recognise him.
Dylan was cruising the streets of the New Jersey suburb in the same area where Bruce Springsteen lived in his early years and where Springsteen wrote ‘Born To Run’.Police were called after residents reported a scruffy man loitering in the area.
Officer Kristie Buble says she knew the name Bob Dylan when he said who he was but did not what Dylan looked liked and was suspicious because of his appearance.
Fellow police officer Sgt Michael Ahart came to her defence stating that it was raining, he was wearing a hood and he was soaking wet as he walked the streets but another officer, Craig Spencer said the everyone at the station fell about laughing when she called in to check on someone called Bob Dylan.
When Dylan failed to produce ID, she escorted him to the tour bus where he was residing while on tour with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp.
Dylan was apparently soaking up the area where Bruce Springsteen found his inspiration.
This is not the first time Dylan has flocked to the birthplace of a legend. In May, while on tour in England, Dylan went on a Beatles tour around Liverpool to visit the house John Lennon grew up in. He was unrecognised on that trip as well.
