Brian Eno’s 1983 opus ‘Apollo’ has been rejigged for two performances at the London Science Museum to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the moon landing.
The piece is performed by Icebreaker, with BJ Cole on pedal steel guitar and is accompanied by original footage of the moon landing put up on the museum’s IMAX cinema screen.The performance also includes new material “based on recordings from space”.
Eno himself was on hand to introduce the piece at last night’s debut performance.
For those of you who didn’t realise, yesterday (June 20) was the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
