Matt Finish will continue their theme shows with a Beatles covers night on Thursday night.
The show follows a 10-song set of songs by The Police last week and a show of Australian contemporaries songs such as Midnight Oil and Hunters & Collectors on July 30th.“We've never done this before, in fact doing any covers is a new thing for Matt Finish, but we may do it again if it goes well,” John Prior tells Undercover News.
The Beatles show will feature ‘Helter Skelter’, ‘Back In The USSR’, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘I Should Have Known Better’, ‘Twist and Shout’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’, ‘Come Together’, ‘She Loves You’, Eight Days A Week’ and ‘Hey Jude’, followed by Matt Finish classics like ‘Short Note’, ‘Mancini Shuffle’ and ‘Look At Me’.
One of the first times Matt Finish played a cover was only a few weeks ago. “We played ‘Billie Jean’ at Beaches in Thirroul a couple of days after Michael Jackson died and it sounded huge three-piece,” John said.
Matt Finish Play The Beatles will be on Thursday July 23rd at Civic Underground in Pitt St, Sydney.
