Whitney Houston has recorded a cover of the Leon Russell classic `A Song For You`.
Russell first released ‘A Song For You’ on his 1970 self-titled album. It has since been covered by The Carpenters, Cher, Dusty Springfield, Ray Charles, The Temptations, Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole, Michael Buble, Simply Red and Kate Ceberano,The song is not a new thing for Whitney either. She first sang it in public in 1991 for the troops returning from the Gulf War.
‘A Song For You’ will feature on “I Look To You”, Whitney’s first studio album since 2002.
The comeback album for Whitney is a big deal and big names are all over it. Akon, Alicia Keys, Dianne Warren, David Foster and R. Kelly are just some of the names who have contributed to the album.
‘I Look To You’ will be released on September 1.
