This Saturday at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne, the friends of Charles Jenkins will gather for the Blue Atlas Ball.
The Blue Atlas Ball will feature the songs of Charles Jenkins and the music of the guest artists singing their own songs and Charles`.Liz Stringer is one of those guests.
Here is what she had to say about Charles Jenkins.
1. How were you first introduced to Charles music?
I'd heard alot about Chuck from around the traps but I wasn't really familiar with his stuff, but I heard him being interviewed on RRR during the release of Blue Atlas. They played Trees Of Brisbane and I fell in love with the song.I went out and bought the album a few days later.
2. What do you admire about Charles as a songwriter / performer?
I just reckon he has a really great range as a songwriter, he has the ability to write sad songs aswell as funny, clever ones. He knows how to tell a good story.
3. Do you have any interesting stories about Charles to share?
Chuck and I haven't known eachother for very long... But he's great to have a chat with and the chats we've had have usually been over a drink and a rollie. I suspect it won't be long before I have some stories to tell...
4. What is your favourite song from the Blue Atlas?
Can I name three? Across the Nullabor, Trees of Brisbane and Autumn Fall are my favourites at the moment.
6. What are you looking forward to most about the Blue Atlas Ball?
The party. Cos it sounds like that's what it'll be.
7. What are you working on at the moment?
Just writing songs. I'm planning on recording again in the next month, maybe a solo album and then a band album later on. That's the plan today. May well be different next week...
8. What plans do you have for the future?
Buying a tarago. My ultimate dream.
Last week we heard Died Pretty frontman Ron Peno was added to the show. Shane O’Mara, Rebecca Barnard and Liz Stringer were also added to the show last week.
Clare Bowditch, Anna Burley, Abby Dobson, Spencer P Jones, Davey Lane, Tim Rogers, Kerri Simpson and Cal & Van Walker will join Charles Jenkins and the Zhivagos on Saturday night.
