The Mars Volta Australian tour, due to start in Sydney on November 28th, has been postponed until March 2007.
A statement from the band explaining the postponement is expected later in the week.The Mars Volta was also scheduled to headline the Corona Music Festival in Mexico City on November 11th, and also had three shows in Japan locked in before the Australian tour. An official announcement about those shows is yet to be made.
Existing tickets will remain valid for the new dates but fans who cannot make the new shows will be given a refund from their original point of purchase.
New dates are:
Sydney, originally Nov 28th now March 15th
Brisbane, originally November 30th, now March 14th
Melbourne, originally December 2nd, now March 17th
Adelaide, originally December 4th, now March 19th
Perth, originally December 9th, now March 12th
