Rick Astley Is Not Dead

By Paul Cashmere
Tue, 30 Jun 2009 16:01:12 +1000

Rick Astley is the latest celeb dodging death rumours.

The former disco pop star was reported dead today, much to his horror.

Astley rose to fame off the back of the 1987 hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’. He had UK hitmakers Mike Stock, Matt Aiken and Pete Waterman to thank for his creation.

Rick sucked a few more hits out of the songwriting factory before it all dried up. “Whenever You Need Somebody’ was another hit for him. It sold 2 million units in America.

Astley’s “death” was reported in a very well faked Associated Press imitation.

Rick Astley is definitely not dead.

A statement at his official website reads, "Contrary to reports in the press today, Rick is alive and well and looking forard to his concert in Tivoli Gardens in Denmark later this week".

"The rumour hit the press earlier this morning, with Rick reported to have been found in hotel room in Berlin".
