Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor hired by Michael Jackson as his personal physician for the duration of the world tour, says he did not inject Michael with Demerol prior to the singer`s death.
Dr. Murray went into hiding soon after Jackson died on Thursday but has since surfaced and has been questioned by Police. The doctor says he entered Jackson’s room and found him unconscious, not breathing but with a slight pulse.
He says he began to administer CPR on the singer is his Holmby Hills mansion.
Dr. Murray had been Jackson’s doctor for the past three years and just two weeks ago closed his practice to work full-time with the singer in what he described to his patients as “a once in a lifetime opportunity”.
A detective for the LAPD said that the Demerol stories are not from official sources and have come from outside the investigation.
Dr. Murray is being treated as a witness, not a suspect in the ongoing investigation into the singer’s death.
