Silverchair's long awaited 5th album will be called 'Young Modern'.
'Young Modern' is due to be released on John Watson's Eleven Records album around March.All songs for the album have now been recorded with mixing the only chore left to be done for the release.
Silverchair's last album was 'Diorama' in 2002 but the live DVD 'Live From Faraway Stables' followed in 2003.
The band from Newcastle, NSW found worldwide success off the back of their debut album 'Frogstomp' in 1995 while they were still at school. They were 15 years old at the time. It lead to their nickname 'Nirvana In Pyjamas'.
Their first single 'Tomorrow' was released in 1994.
Silverchair broke America with the song 'Pure Massacre'. 'Frogstomp' sold more than a million units in the USA but subsequent albums failed to reach the heights of the debut.
