Celebrity pop star thug Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to assault charges against Rihanna and has entered a plea for to five years probation and 120 days community service or 6 months jail.
At the preliminary hearing in Los Angeles today (June 22, 2009), Brown, wearing a beige suit and diamond earrings, stood before Judge Patricia M. Schnegg.Judge Schnegg was told that an agreement between the sides had been reached and then handed down her sentence. This will be a felony, will be supervised probation,” she said. “I will allow Mr. Brown to do his 180 days of service in Virginia”.
The community service will be done on the basis that is a tough service, not working in a “church”.
Brown is required to come back to the court every three months to show his progress.
Judge Schegg also ordered Brown must stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna but will allow that distance to be shortened to 10 yards if they are the same industry event.
Rihanna entered the room after Brown had left to be told the result.
“Thank you, your honor” was all she said and then left the room.
Brown attacked Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party in February.
