Starting Sunday are one of Victoria`s hardest working bands.
The band formerly known as Front Counter scored their first dose of fame when Triple M started to play their song ‘What’s Your Name’.They became the first unknown band to perform on an episode of Neighbours. Their music was also used in a sync deal (the music behind a television show promo) for the Beijing Olympics and Rove.
Starting Sunday also graced the stage of the 2008 ARIA Awards.
With a constant stream of live gigs, Starting Sunday have landed supports for The Butterfly Effect and the Taste of Chaos tour with The Used and Rise Against.
The new name Starting Sunday only came into effect recently. “We wanted to portray the idea of a new beginning. It was on a Sunday after a few shows in Brisbane that everything changed. The new band started on a Sunday, so after a while it became pretty obvious what we should call ourselves,” singer Rhys Thompson said.
