The Doors keyboard player Ray Manzarek has teamed up with a very Jim Morrison looking Weird Al Yankovic and immortalised online classified site `Craigslist` to the tune of The Doors classic `When The Music’s Over`.
The music video was directed by Al’s friend Liam Lynch, who also directed Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny and Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic.“We were working with a considerably smaller budget, which was consistent with the look we were trying to achieve,” declared Yankovic in a statement. “We literally shot it in Liam’s garage.”
The song sounds like an authentic Doors piece thanks to the addition of Manzarek on the keyboards.
Weird Al has recorded ‘Craigslist’ as the first of four songs he will be releasing over the Internet. He will be calling the songs ‘Internet Leaks’. They will lead up to a new Weird Al album in early 2010.
