Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas is starting his own record label.
The new label, to be called R Tel Records, is a new venture for Thomas who says he is starting the business with "one of my best friends and publishers".Already three acts have been signed to the label including Fort Worth singer Hodges.
Hodges hooked up with Thomas when he scored the few support gig for Thomas in Portland.
The combination of Hodges and Thomas seems a good match with Hodges' official site even referring to his songwriting with producer Aaron Kamin as being reminiscent of "Thomas and Serletic".
Rob Thomas fans can also look forward to more new music in 2007. He has confirmed that he has recorded a new song with Matt Serletic for an upcoming Disney movie.
