Interpol front man Paul Banks will slip into the pseudonym of Julian Plenti for his first solo album, which is due to be released on August 4 in the USA on Matador.
The record will go by the name of ‘Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper’ and Ratatat's Mike Stroud, Interpol's Sam Fogarino, and Charles Burst of the Occasion will all make an appearance on the record, but other than that, Plenti himself has recorded all of the instruments.Julian Plenti originally was conceived around 1996 and existed only in the cool little coffee shops of New York, but was put on the shelf while Interpol took over his life.
Now, according to a Matador press release, the advent of modern technology has allowed his self-indulgence to appear in musical form by being his own boss in his own studio.
