They say if you live long enough you will hear everything. Well, there is going to be a Weird Al Yankovic convention.
Hell has frozen over again folks. Al Fest will take place in Orange County in August. If you thought those Star Trek conventions were creepy, then this one makes them look sane.
Al fans will be treated to a presentation from Yankovich’s drummer Jon ‘Bermuda’ Schwartz, a guitar performance from Jim ‘Kimo’ West, his guitarist since 1982 and a panel featuring Victoria Jackson, Gedde Watanabe and Jay Levey who worked with Al on his 1982 feature ‘UHF’.
And if that is not enough fun to have in weekend, ‘UHF’ will also screen.
Fans will also be able to buy Weird Al memorabilia and have photos ops with the stars of UHF and his band.
There is only one thing missing - Al. The press release for the convention states that Al is not scheduled to attend Al Fest.
As an added bonus for those afar, tickets are free for people traveling from Australia, Asia and Africa.
For the rest of you, tickets are $47 for adults.
Al Fest will be held at the Holiday Inn at Costa Mesa, California on August 1.
