The Music Matters conference in Hong Kong next month will pay close attention to the increase in internet usage in the Asian market.
For example, in China alone in the last two years, the Internet usage has increased 42% to 300 million. There is now as many Internet users in China as in the entire population of the USA from birth to death.China also recently introduced 3G to its telephone network. In 2008, China Mobile reported $US2.4 billion in revenue from mobile music downloads and ringtones alone.
Music Matters will feature a line-up of speakers who have driven music and technology in the Asian market.
