The debut album by BLACKCHORDS features wayward guitarist Damian Cazaly. Damian left the band before they started recording the album but returned to the flock before as the sessions got underway.
“He had to move to WA, find his heart get it broken,” singer and songwriter Nick Milwright tells Undercover News.“It was actually good to sit at a BLACKCHORDS gig and not bring a guitar, just sit back and watch,” Damian said of his chance to sit in the audience and watch a show.
“That was the one and only gig that you came to and then it was the end of that guitarist,” Nick laughed.
Watching Nick and Damian communicate shows two guys in one band with one vision. “We kind of fell apart,” Nick says. “We remolded in a different way, shape and form and just kept having this strange BLACKCHORDS moment until we got back out the original guitarist
Damo agreed. “From the start when we first met we had too much in common not to play music. It is hard enough just getting 4 or 5 people in the same room 3 nights a week but we stuck with it. The evolution of it has been incredible thing”.
BLACKCHORDS album is atmospheric in sound. Fans of Coldplay and Radiohead are advised to check it out.
