Emerging hip-hop star Pez found the fans waiting when he arrived for his Record Store Day Australia appearance in Melbourne Central today (April 18).
With the new album ‘A Mind Of My Own’ just released, 24-year old Perry Chapman, aka Pez, spent an hour talking to fans, signing autographs, posing for photos and he even earned himself a gift.“You get to meet some of the young ones and I was given a present,” he told Undercover.
Now that his album has finally been released, Pez has had the fun of finding it in record stores. “It is overwhelming because in your head you think about it for so long but when it is happening it is almost a bit hard to take it in. Hopefully I will keep selling and it will be good,” he says.
He says he loves record stores. “Its nice digging through and finding stuff and giving it a listen. You get inspiration for your own stuff,” he said.
401 stores across Australia participated in the first annual Record Store Day Australia.
Australian Idol winner Wes Carr spent the day cruising from store to store in Sydney. Russell Morris had 150 fans turn up for his Eastland appearance and Wendy Matthews brought them into Songland Records in Canberra.
