Soap star Stephanie McIntosh has released her first single and plans a debut album and reality doco show for the Ten Network.
Stephanie McIntosh, better known to Australian and British housewives as Sky Mangel from ceaseless suburban soap opera Neighbours, has followed in the footsteps of Stefan Dennis and Craig McLachlan with her own music career. Her debut single, ‘Mistake' was co-written by Tom Nichols, Rami and Arnthor (who are responsible for Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson and N*Sync songs) with Maratone production (see: Kelly Clarkson, J-Lo, Britney). It's on radio and TV now (the hospitality-themed clip featuring ‘Desperate Housewives' actor Ryan Carnes) with an instore release date of July 29. Unsurprisingly, it's a glossily produced pop rock anthem a la Clarkson, from McIntosh's debut album ‘Tightrope', due out on September 9.
Despite the marvels of modern technology, the album apparently took over two years to manufacture, a documentary crew following McIntosh throughout the process. The resulting eight-part series called ‘The Steph Show', will screen on - surprise surprise - Channel Ten from July 28.
