Green Day have plagarised the work of grocery store employee Paul McPike, according to McPike himself, Gigwise.com reports.
McPike alleges that he came up with the concept of American Idiot and even had a song that he recorded called 'Jesus of Suburbia'.His case was thrown out of court due to lack of evidence.
Green Day's American Idiot gave them a huge resurgence ten years after their initial success with 1994's 'Dookie'. It has sold well over 10 million copies, a once common feat rarely equaled since CD burning became commonplace.
