September 19 will mark the 20th anniversary of `Let Love Rule` by Lenny Kravitz.
The album was not an enormous hit first up. It only reached no. 61 in the USA, no. 45 in Australia and no. 56 in the U.K. but it went on to sell more than 2 million units worldwide.Kravtiz next album ‘Mama Said’ was bigger. It sold 3 million. The third album ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ sold 4 million, 5 from 1998 did 6 million and his Greatest Hits sold 11 million, so ‘Let Love Rule’ really set up the Kravitz career.
The Krav, as his mates call him, always had an entertainment background. His mother was Helen Willis, who played the mother on The Jeffersons and dad, Sy Kravitz was a NBC news producer.
To mark the 20th anniversary of ‘Let Love Rule’, EMI will release a special limited edition 2CD set featuring 18 bonus tracks, 13 previously unreleased demos, rare b-sides and live tracks.
Kravitz is also about to go out on a 55 city European tour staring on April 17 in Caen, France.
