Pop prince Darren Hayes releases a new DVD while working on his forthcoming double album in London.
After coming out in 2006, "tying the knot" with partner Richard Cullen under the UK's same sex union laws, and getting dropped by his record label, it's been a tumultuous year for ex-Savage Garden pop star Darren Hayes. He now prepares for the release of a new DVD called 'Too Close For Comfort'. It promises a look into Hayes' private life and his onstage performances around his debut solo tour in 2002 through the UK. It is slated for release on November 1.The two sold out Sydney Opera House performances in July 2006, dubbed 'A Big Night In', will feature on another DVD which is set for a December 6 release date.
Hayes has been providing ongoing announcements regarding his work on a new solo double album. According to a recent blog, he is working in a London studio with two producers, Justin Shave and Robert Conley. For those curious about the studio processes, Hayes has been blogging furiously of late via his myspace, and his dot com.
