Hey, that's pretty clever, don’t you think? The date chosen matches the song from the classic White Album called ‘Revolution 9’.The official word from Apple is:
-The game takes players through an "unprecendented experiential progression" of the musical career of the band.
-The game will be available as standalone software and hardware, as well as a limited edition bundle. The game will be compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers and other current music-based video game peripherals.
-There will be limited edition hardware modelled on instruments used by John, Paul, George and Ringo.

The Beatles Rock Band marks the first time the legendary group has licensed its music for a computer game.
It comes with the total endorsement from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.
It a statement, Yoko said, "It's cool. I love it and hope it will keep inspiring and encouraging the young generation for many decades."
Rock Band is the rival to Guitar Hero. They recently released Rock Band AC/DC Live.
Guitar Hero put out Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and will this month release Guitar Hero: Metallica.
The Beatles Rock Band will sell from $59.99 for the standard edition though to $249.99 for a full band kit.
