What a week for J.D. Fortune and INXS. After announcing on Canadian television that he was sacked from INXS, was homeless and was a cocaine addict, the former reality TV show pretty much brought the future of INXS to a halt.
Fortune may have lost his fortune and he might be homeless but he has found a home on MySpace. While it sounds all doom and gloom for the one-time INXS singer, it certainly sounds like he will have a promising future as a solo singer.
This week, a brand new song ‘Death in the Afternoon’ was added to his MySpace. The song will feature on his forthcoming solo album ‘The Death of the Motivation Speaker’.
The song is a departure from the INXS rock sound. It is a slow, bluesy number. The song lyrics sound strangely autobiographical, considering the circumstances of the week.
“How does it feel when to know that its gonna to end,” he sings. “How does it feel, to know that you’re gonna fall”.
This is JD recapping the week’s news in music.
If you want a more INXS sounding song, check out ‘Product of the System’. Again, listen to the lyrics “I’m just a product of the system”, “this parties getting tired”.
It sounds to me like JD may be giving a one two punch back to his old INXS buddies who he said earlier this week sent him packing at Hong Kong airport.
