After postponing two New York shows recently, Jet have now had to halt their two weeks of European shows.
Two weeks ago, Jet singer Nic Cester developed laryngitis and the band had to reschedule two New York shows and give the man's vocal chords a rest. Unfortunately, after seeing two specialists in London on October 13, it was confirmed that Cester had developed nodules on his vocal chords due to returning to the stage too quickly following his acute laryngitis. This means Cester has to spend a fortnight in London getting treatment and the band has had to put off two weeks worth of shows in France, Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Spain. On their website the Oz rockers vowed to reschedule the shows and return to Europe.
Drummer Chris Cester said on the site, "We are so sorry we had to do this. Everyone is extremely frustrated, no-one moreso than Nic." While they expressed their disappointment, they acknowledge that the cancellations are, "a necessary evil, because ultimately, we just want Nic to return to full health so that we can make up the dates."
