German music conference Popkomm will be throwing a party at US music conference SXSW.
Popkomm is part if 12 German music companies promoting the new Berlin Music Commission, the first comprehensive network within Berlin’s music industry.Berlin is sending four acts to perform in Austin. They are Booka Shade, CLP, Damero and Popular Damage.
Dirk Schade, Manager Festival & Events: “Increasingly, the North American market is making good use of Popkomm. The USA had a national display for the first time at Popkomm 2008, where it was represented by A2IM, the American Association of Independent Music. Furthermore, the number of artists from Canada and the USA taking part in the Popkomm Festival is rising all the time. Popkomm’s aim is to build on this development by taking part in SXSW”.
The German party will take place on March 20 from midday to 3pm at Brush Square Park, across the road from the Austin Convention Center.
Popkomm 2009 is from September 16-18 in Berlin.
