Pop stars Rihanna and Chris Brown have cancelled their appearance at the Grammy Awards after Brown was involved in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
EW.com is reporting that the accident took place around 12:30am. Brown had been at the Grammy Party hosted by industry guru Clive Davis and was on his way home.Police were called after an alleged altercation took place and Brown is now under investigation for felony battery.
Details are sketchy at this point. A woman at the scene claimed Chris Brown had assaulted her after the accident and then left the scene.
Rihanna is nominated for three awards this year and Brown has been nominated for two awards.
Veteran soul legend Al Green will perform in place of Brown at the show.
