Jared Leto last year made the painful decision of knocking back an invitation from Clint Eastwood to appear in his new film, instead choosing to hit the road with screamo-ers The Used.
Leto's band - 30 Seconds To Mars - was promoting its second album, 'A Beautiful Lie'. Leto, who has appeared in the films 'Requiem For A Dream', 'Panic Room' and 'Fight Club', was asked to star in Eastwood's upcoming war movie 'Flags Of Our Fathers'. However, he knocked the role back, preferring to support The Used on their tour.Leto explained, "I look back at the things I had to say no to, and no one in their right mind... Clint Eastwood wanted me for 'Flags Of Our Fathers' last year (05). And I had to say no, because we were booked to open for The Used. It wasn't even the main support slot, but the third band on the bill.
"People did not understand how I could say no to Clint. But the record was coming out and I was committed."
This sad story acts as further proof that actors should never enter the domain of rock'n'roll. It only ever ends in hurt.
