Popkomm 2009 will be in an all-new location.
The German based music conference and exhibition will take place in the centre of Berlin this year, at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The new venue will make it easy to attend the conference. Managing Director of Popkomm Dr. Ralf Kleinhenz said, “The new location is not the only innovation. This year Popkomm will take place from 16 to 18 September. We maintain close ties with the industry, and following numerous meetings with participants we have responded to their request to bring the fair dates forward. Due to the congested fair timetable on the exhibition grounds, the only way to guarantee September fair dates in the long term is by moving to an external location.”
The new location will also be a better visual for Berlin than the previous out of town location. Katja Gross, Popkomm Director says, ““In 2009 we will continue to expand the networking approach, a core element of Popkomm, and with a new hall concept will create the space to bring together the supply and demand of specific countries and sectors. It is very important for all the participants that everything should be within close reach, as they want to organise their time at Popkomm as efficiently as possible. Being a part of Popkomm will be easier than it has ever been before. What is more the halls have a wonderful atmosphere. This location is simply tailor-made for a creative sector such as the music industry.”
