Lou Reed has formed a trio called Best Seat In The House.
The new band features Lou on guitar, Ulrich Krieger on tenor sax and live electronics and Sarth Calhoun on live processing and Fingerboard Continuum.Best Seat In The House is most like Lou’s avant-guard Metal Machine Music, the album that scared the crap put of his fans in the mid 70s.
“We intend to put out different types of my music - from industrial to meditative to songs and all subway stops in between,” he said in a blog posted at his Myspace site. “Our first release is a live recording of two great nights live at the Redcat in L.A.
Lou called Best Seat In The House “The creation of the universe”.
