Singer and actress and genuine star Eartha Kitt has died of colon cancer at the age of 81.
She was born Eartha Mae Keith on January 17, 1927.Ms Kitt was a true Hollywood star. She was a star of stage, screen and music.
Eartha made her film debut in Dr. Faustus in 1950. Orson Welles picked her for the role of Helen of Troy personally.
However, pop culture fans will know her best as Catwoman in the 60’s TV series Batman. Eartha Kitt was the second Catwoman, after Julie Newmar left the role.
In music, she first recorded the classic Christmas song ‘Santa Baby’, later made famous again by Madonna. In 1984, she returned to the Top 40 charts with her disco hit ‘Where Is My Man’.
She was married to Bill McDonald for 5 years in the 60s. They had one child, Kitt who gave Eartha two grandchildren Jason and Rachel.
