Kylie Minogue is heading to Mumbai to do a bit for a Bollywood film.
The pop princess will visit the city, which last month was the scene of a horrific terrorist attack, to sing in the Bollywood production 'Blue'.Reports from Australian media and the Indian newspaper DNA said she has agreed a fee of nearly $1million (£675,000) to sing one song for the soundtrack of the highly-anticipated film.
The 40-year-old singer, who will arrive in the city in January, will be the first international A-list star to sing in a mainstream Bollywood film.
DNA also quoted sources as saying Kylie was not afraid of visiting Mumbai though she was well aware of the recent terrorist attack.
However, she was reportedly the producers' third choice after Madonna, who was the first to be asked, refused and R&B star Rhianna, who was next on the list, reportedly wanted too much money.
But today the producers of the film refuse to be drawn on whether or not Kylie will actually appear.
A spokesperson for Nine Winds, who are handling the film's publicity, said: "Yes, we are getting an international artist in January or February for the number, but we don't want to say who it is yet."
Blue, which tells the story of a sunken treasure ship, is reported to be one of the most expensive Bollywood films ever put into production, at a reported cost of £18million.
