St Kilda`s Tuesday Flicks evening next Tuesday will focus on the work of Richard Lowenstein but also feature the videos he made for U2 and INXS.
Organiser and St Kilda council nominee Serge Thomann has been putting together the regularly weekly event to celebrate the talent from the inner-city Melbourne suburb. Lowenstein was a St Kilda resident.The movie this week will be ‘He Died With A Felafel In His Hand’. The movie was released in 2001. It stars Noah Taylor, who made the Aussie flick in between his Hollywood blockbusters ‘Almost Famous’ and ‘Vanilla Sky’.
Lowenstein worked with INXS on the Kick videos as well as Hutchence as an actor in ‘Dogs In Space’. His INXS videos were ‘What You Need’, ‘Listen Like Thieves’, ‘Need You Tonight’. ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, ‘New Sensation’, ‘Suicide Blonde’, ‘Bitter Tears’, ‘By My Side’ and ‘The Gift’.
For U2, he directed ‘Desire’ and ‘Angel of Harlem’.
St Kilda’s Tuesday Flicks is on Tuesday Night at the Palace George Cinemas, 135 Fitzroy St, St Kilda.
