Paul McCartney mentioned Barack Obama in his acceptance speech at the MTV Europe Music Awards this week in Liverpool.
Sir Paul thanked the American people “for voting for Mr. Obama”.Backstage, he said that like many he had his fingers crossed for Obama in this election and had a special song for the wife of the new America leader, his old Beatles classic ‘Michelle’.
Sir Paul was awarded the Ultimate Legend Award by Bono. Introducing Paul, Bono said “This is the man who invented my job”.
The 15th MTV Europe Music Awards were held for the first time in McCartney’s hometown of Liverpool.
