Semisonic singer Dan Wilson is about to hit Australia for a series of dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, some by himself, some with Martha Wainwright.
Although they have never “officially” broken up, Semisonic have been inactive since 2001, although they reformed for the River Rocks Festival in Minnesota in September.They also played two shows in 2003 and one in 2006.
The big Semisonic hit was ‘Closing Time’ from 1998. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1999. Dan was also nominated for a Grammy for the song he co-wrote for the Dixie Chicks ‘Not Ready To Make Nice’
As a solo act, Dan Wilson is signed to Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label. Rubin produced his solo album ‘Free Life’.
