Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has told industry rag Billboard that fans shouldn't be expecting an active Oasis over the coming years.
The band are about to release a best of compilation entitled 'Stop The Clocks', which features a couple of new tracks on it, but has no plans to tour or record a new album. The compilation comes after years of Oasis vowing never to record a best of.
"There's no plans to do anything, [but] saying that, there's no plans not to do anything either." Gallagher said, "We're not like other bands in that respect. We're masters of our own destiny and take these things one album at a time. The last time we sat down and planned an album, it turned into 'Don't Believe the Truth,' and that took three years to record."
The band has also fulfilled their obligation to their record company Sony BMG, leaving them without a label.
Fans will just have to wait patiently and maybe buy the new Jet album to tie them over.
