Darnell Donnerson, the mother of American Idol / Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer`s brother Jason Hudson have been found murdered in Chicago.
The murder is believed to be a case of domestic abuse. Police are searching for Jason Balfour, Darnell’s estranged husband in relation to the killing.Balfour is currently on parole after spending six years in jail on an attempted murder charge.
Police are looking for Jennifer’s 7-year old cousin who is now missing following the murder.
Jennifer Hudson was a finalist in the third season of American Idol.
After Idol, she scored a role in the movie Dreamgirls. She had a small part in the Sex and the City movie and will be seen next in The Secret Life of Bees.
Her Dreamgirls role won her an Academy Award for Best Performance by an actress in a Supporting Role in 2007.
In September, Jennifer released her debut album.
