Kings Of Leon have reached a new level with their `Only By The Night` album. This week they clock up their third week at number one with another 19517 units to help pay next weeks rent.
‘Only By The Night’ was also the number one digital album after selling 1765 downloads in the last week.Last week the album sold 24,476 units including 2186 downloads.
In its first full week, it sold 35,805 units including 3,738 downloads but on the chart the week prior to that, stores breaking the sales embargo shifted an extra 4,751 units.
In the last three weeks and one day, `Only By The Night` has sold bona-fide platinum on 84,549 sales.
It was a great week for Josh Pyke as well. His ‘Chimney’s Afire’ album came in at number three with 5,941 units sold.
Oasis had a somewhat disappointing chart entry (considering who they are) with ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ coming in at number 5 on 4,946 sales.
Other debuts were Rise Against ‘Appeal To Reason’ at number 7 with 3639 units sold. Empire of the Sun came in at number 8 after selling 3,582 units.
Elsewhere down the chart Amity Affliction ‘Severed Ties’ debuts at 26, Bring Me The Horizon ‘Suicide Season’ charted at 28 and Bob Dylan ‘Tell Tale Signs’ was at 32.
