What a shame Dan In Real Life was such an awful movie. The soundtrack is fantastic.
Whoever put the Dan In Real Life music together did an excellent job by unveiling a young Norwegian singer songwriter by the name of Sondre Lerche.26-year old Sondre has four albums plus the Dan In Real Life soundtrack to his credit.
His first album Faces Down was released in 2001 and in early 2007, he put out the Phantom Punch album.
Lerche is one of those critically acclaimed artists whose albums are praised more than they sell.
Regardless, Lerche has positioned himself as an independent singer songwriter, especially in his own region.
He has picked up a Spellemannprisen (music award in Norway) and has a few tours under his belt with Elvis Costello.
Dan In Real Life was the movie Steve Carell made before Get Smart. Despite an all-star cast, including Diane West and John Mahoney, the $25,000,000 movie had a nothing plot about two brothers fighting over the same girl.
The one good thing about the movie is the scene where Carell serenades his brother’s girlfriend with Pete Townshend’s ‘Let My Love Open The Door.’ (Like I said, there is nothing wrong with the music in this movie.
Skip the movie, check out the soundtrack and investigate Sondre Lerche.
