Lily Allen has responded to the media claiming she is still a good friend of Elton John’s despite her foul-mouthed attack on him at last week’s GQ Awards.
Lily told Elton to “fuck off” and said “I’m 40 years younger than you. I still have my whole life ahead of me” while on stage presenting an award.Elton looked dumb-founded by Lily’s drunken banter and now Lily claims they left the building still friends.
“Now it's all died down I'm saying my side of what I can't believe is considered to be a story. Elton John and I are friends,” she has posted at her MySpace site.
She says her behavior was because she was drunk. “I'm not defending my drunkenness because I don't need to,” she said. “I'm 23, it was an awards ceremony, I drank the free champagne, how awful of me”.?
She then turned the bad press around on the media. “Trying to create a feud on the other hand, and trying to make me out as being some rude little girl with a drink problem is just unfair,” she said. “Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all. In fact neither of us gave it a second thought. It's sad that an evening enjoyed by all had to ruined by some bitter journos again.
Sorry lovey. You were a pissed little brat. You couldn’t hold your liquor and you embarrassed yourself around the world.
“All these showbiz journalists are just bullies when it comes down to it. I have felt really very bullied this week,” she said.
Don’t be stupid Lily. You were a drunken little trollop on stage. Take a bit of credit for the rollout of how this thing was reported.
“I realize that when I first started this job I slagged a few people off when I probably shouldn't have and I have been opinionated about some things, but I haven't said a bad word about anyone for a long time, even when I have wanted to, even when people have tried to start feuds and said horrible things about me when they'd never even met me, when they'd based an opinion on me because of something they'd read,” she rants.
To Lily, it looks a little like this. “I turned up and presented an awards ceremony for charity, I drank some champagne and went home for 12.30 and again I've been made to feel like a bad friend and an embarrassment to my fans and the people who support me. I shouldn't have to defend myself when I've done nothing wrong,” she moans.
Wake up to yourself Lily. You owe Elton an apology. You owe the audience an apology. You don’t owe the fans or the media anything, but please take a little responsibility for acting like trollop of the year.
