The Flip Out festival will take over Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Saturday September 6th with a huge array of local, national and international talent on three stages throughout the building, and if you don’t have a ticket yet, you’d best get your arse down to the Corner Hotel and get it sorted.
Not only are thirteen great bands playing (that’s just over two bucks a band, y’know'), but there will also be record stalls from Vicious Sloth, Fuse Music, Licorice Pie (a personal favourite), Aarght Records and Stained Circles, who are pretty much guaranteed to be selling pure gold infused into wax.The first two hundred people to turn up will get a sampler from Aarght Records/Stained Circles featuring tracks from Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Jay Reatard, The Dirtbombs, The Ooga Boogas and heaps more.
You can pick up tickets from Polyester (on Brunswick St or Flinders Lane), Missing Link (on Bourke St) or the Corner Hotel Box Office at www.cornerhotel.com.au or by calling (03) 9427 9198. They’ll set you back $30 + b/f.
The playing times for the bands are:
3.00 Super Wild Horses
3.45 The UV Race
4.30 The Straight Arrows
5.15 The Frowning Clouds
6.00 The Pink Fits
6.45 Dead Farmers
7.30 Knife Fight (NZ)
8.15 The Stabs
9.00 King Automatic (France)
9.45 Deaf Wish
10.30 M.O.T.O (USA)
11.15 Beaches
12.00 Eddy Current Suppression Ring
NB. While I don't advocate missing ANY of these great bands, please don't miss the fantastic Frowning Clouds!
