Limp Bizkit`s Fred Durst is the man behind the new family film `The Longshots`.
Durst is the director of The Longshoots, a family flick and true story about 11-year old Jasmine Plummer who became the first female to play Pop Warner football.Jasmine is played by 15 -year old Keke Palmer, already somewhat of a veteran on screen after having appearing in shows like Cold Case, ER and Law and Order.
Durst has cast his old buddy, rapper Ice Cube in the lead role of Curtis Plummer, Jasmine`s uncle.
10 years ago, Durst and Ice Cube were Family Values, Limp Bizkit`s travelling rock festival.
The Longshoots is a big budget movie but it isn`t Durst`s first.
Last year, he made the independent `The Education of Charlie Banks` that was screened at the Tribecca Film Festival.
The Longshoots opens this week in the USA.
