Jessica Simpson has denied comments made by Carrie Underwood in a recent interview that Tony Romo still calls her, with Simpson saying, “We got a chuckle out of that.”
Underwood, who used to date the Dallas Cowboys star, told Allure magazine in September, “The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer. We were both small town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame.”During an interview on Wednesday (August 20) with Nashville radio station 107.5 The River, Simpson said, “Tony and I both laughed at that. We got a chuckle out of it.”
She explains, “If Tony wanted to call her or be with her, he would.”
When asked if she’s sure Underwood isn’t telling the truth, she joked, “Definitely. I looked at his call log!”
Simpson also denied that photos showing her wearing a t-shirt with the slogan ‘Real Girls Eat Meat’ was not a stab at Romo’s ex, who’s a vegetarian.
“I thought it was funny,” she explained. “I wore it because I thought it was funny. I don’t know what Carrie eats... I did not know that she was a vegetarian and it definitely was not a diss on her by any means.”
