Gary Glitter is finally on his way to London after a globe-hopping detour via Bangkok and Hong Kong.
It has been a week of drama for the former pop star and convicted paedophile who was released from a Vietnamese prison this week.Glitter arrived in Bangkok enroute to London on Tuesday night and faked a heart attack to avoid continuing his flight to the UK. He spent 20 hours in a transit lounge before finally boarding a plane for Hong Kong.
In Hong Kong, once again he was refused entry as an undesirable and after another extended layover in the transit lounge at Hong Kong airport, is now finally on his way to London.
He is expected to arrive in London at around 7am (UK time) or 4pm East Coast Australian time where it is believed he will be handed an order placing him on the sex offenders register.
As a registered sex offender, Glitter will have to report to authorities every week and must announce his intent to travel outside Britain.
