Gwen Stefani dropped hints about her second album while presenting L.A.M.B's Spring 2007 collection in New York.
The fashion designer, mother and occasional singer spoke to MTV about the follow-up to 2004's hip-pop confection 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby.' She said that the as-yet-untitled album will essentially be 'L.A.M.B. Part II'. Stefani insisted that she won't stray far from the success of her multi-million selling first solo album, even reusing left-over songs.She told MTV News, "There's a lot of songs that were left over from the last album, and there's some new songs I did with Pharrell." Stefani acknowledged that there will be a lot of work on the album with the Neptunes producer, as well as No Doubt bandmate Tony Kanal, Senegalese rapper Akon and New York producer Swizz Beats.
Mr. Beats was also at Stefani's fashion show, ready with a glowing appraisal of the ex-ska rock queen. ""She's always taking it to the next level," he told MTV News, "I love her background for music. She likes a lot of Caribbean sounds with hard beats."
Stefani said that she hopes her second album will be released by the end of this year, contrary to her May statement where she said she needed to "hibernate."
