Billboard is reporting that the AC/DC world tour will kick off Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in October and that the band will spend 18 months on the road touring the world.
This will be in support of the new album `Black Ice` which will be released in October. The first single `Runaway Train` will be released next month.`Black Ice` will be the first album of new material from AC/DC since 2000`s `Stiff Upper Lip`.
While the album will be released exclusively though Walmart in the United States, Sony-BMG will distribute the album internationally to all stores.
AC/DC formed in Sydney in 1973 and released their first 5 albums from 1975 over a 2 ?? year period.
`Black Ice` will be the band`s 15th album internationally but 16th in Australia. The first US release was a compilation of the first two Australian albums `High Voltage` and `TNT`. It was released as `High Voltage` around the world.
`Black Ice` was produced by Brendan O`Brien who has Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots to his credit also.
