Kylie Minogue has introduced chart-topping disco pop act Scissor Sisters at a Trafalgar Square charity show.
Minogue appeared on stage to introduce the New York headliners, saying "You have all taken them into your hearts as have I. May I present to you, the Scissor Sisters." The band performed material from their new hit album 'Ta-Dah'.It is the first time since 2003 that Mayor Ken Livingstone has permitted a large-scale concert to take place in the famed Trafalgar Square. It was reported that 15,000 fans showed up to shake their respective things to the disco strains of the Sisters. The performance was telecast on Channel 4 in the UK and benefited AIDS charities.
Also, punters can rest assured it's all good clean fun. Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears recently told MTV News of the band's healthy lifestyle. "We're really good as a band, for the most part, taking care of ourselves," he said, "We've got to get enough sleep every night. And you've got to eat at least three meals a day. Those things are so important in keeping any resemblance of sanity." Admittedly 'sanity' isn't the first word that usually comes to mind when thinking of the Scissor Sisters.
