The debut album from Melbourne 80's band Geisha has been released in the USA on CD.
US specialist label Almacantar Records has licensed the vintage record which sees the album available for the very first time anywhere in the world on CD.The interest has sparked singer Chris Doheny to go back into the studio and record an acoustic version of the hits for an album titled 'Acoustic Memoirs of Geisha' which has likewise found a US release through Almacantar Records.
"I was motivated to re-visit the Geisha catalogue, following an acoustic performance on Channel 31s TV show Chart Busting 80s last year" says Doheny in a statement.
Work on the new album began in February at Chris' Dragon's Lair Studio in Melbourne. The Wish's Bill Kio produced and mixed the record at Lincoln Road Studios.
Chris Doheny and Friends will perform a show of Geisha songs at a special dinner show at Live @ Hardimans - upstairs in Janie's Room, 521 Macauley Road Kensington in Melbourne Friday, October 27.
