Beatles’ drummer Ringo Starr treated people in Chicago to cupcakes yesterday.
The occasion was Ringo’s 68th birthday.The former Beatles took his birthday cupcakes out on the street outside the Hard Rock in Chicago as a gesture of peace and love.
Starr, who is currently touring the USA with his All-Starr Band, announced that all he wanted for his birthday was peace and love. When he did turn 68 yesterday, he added cake to that wish.
He asked fans on his website to mark the occasion by sending a peace sign to whoever they were next too at exactly midday yesterday. However, he was a little late in getting out on the street in Chicago and missed the time by a few minutes.
Ringo and his wife, Barbara, treated around 200 people to the cake.
